My first subscription service was the My Glam, now called Ipsy bag. Ipsy is a beauty bag subscription service that cost $10 a month. For your money you receive a beauty pouch with on average five beauty samples and products to try. I had a really great experience with this beauty bag and because of it discovered some great brands like Mirabella, Nyx Cosmetics and Juice Beauty. I eventually ended my subscription because after a while I noticed the products were consistently not complementary to my skin tone. They have since made some updates to their site I notice, so perhaps I will try again later. One of the good things about these subscription services is you can cancel when you’d like and subscribe later, though, some of them do have wait lists. This particular subscription had a low price so I never really felt like I had to budget for this unlike the newer box I have recently started.
The Pop Sugar Must Have Box is a subscription service I have coveted for a long time. The price is definitely something to consider at $39.95 for a monthly subscription, $109.85 for a three-month subscription and $214.70 for a six month subscription at the time of this post. They also have Special Edition Boxes that are one time purchases usually over a $100 price point. For your money you receive full size (not sample) size products with a value over $100. You never know what you are getting in the box. You can however review past boxes on their website and when I did I was impressed and intrigued by what I saw. I went for the monthly subscription and my first box arrived last month.
So here’s what I got inside my April POPSUGAR Must Have box.
POTTING SHED CREATIONS Garden-in-a-Bag Basil $10 on their website. I have to say I love gardening though I am definitely a novice my hubby Josh, and I have had a blast establishing and growing a pretty successful garden of our own. I love Basil and was thrilled to have this bag especially since we are probably not going to have a garden this year. Now we have had a mushroom growing kit that was a hit one year and a total failure the next so before I posted this I wanted to see what this garden bag would be. Luckily it’s a hit! I actually have Basil in a Bag! Yum. I highly recommend checking this company out. Their products look great and I hope to buy from them in the future.
DABNEY LEE Dottie Umbrella. $18 on their website. This is a cute umbrella and opens smoothly. I was actually in need of an umbrella so I a was thrilled to receive it.
This is one of my favorites from this box. This Produce Candle in Rhubarb is like the best thing ever. It’s a soy candle and really has the most pleasant natural rhubarb scent. I love soy candles. They last a long time, the scent fills a room and they burn clean. It sells for $20 on their website.
ONE LOVE ORGANICS Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum is a really good serum but the smell of it was a bit off-putting at first but I kind of got used to it. It feels good on the skin but this is one that we’ll have to revisit because I haven’t used it long enough to tell how it works on my skin yet. We’ll see.
FLIP & TUMBLE 24-7 Bag. $12 on their website. This ripstop nylon bag is made to handle up to 35 pounds. This is a cute grocery or lunch bag. It’s also a good to keep in your purse for those unforeseen times when a strap breaks and you are in desperate need of a bag. That or that little bit of shopping you were going to do on your way home turns into a bit more than you anticipated. It’s a good length for I think for most people and it’s light, easy to fold up and unfold.
MOTT 50 Gift Card for $25. This was the last item in my box. This gift card did get me to go to their website but $25 won’t go far at all. This was the least favorite thing in my box because of that. That said there are some great things available at that store. And the gift card will help when I finally decide what I should treat myself to… and trust me it will be a treat at those prices.
All in all I loved this box. My expectations have been exceeded and I am so excited about my next box. I would highly recommend the POPSUGAR Must Have Box. It’s a fun way to discover new and useful products. I will post what I get in each box from now on as a part of Products I love Thursdays on my blog.
