It’s spring which means we’ve seen the return of geese, ducks, thrashers, goldfinches, blue jays and ticks! Josh has begun his work in the garden and I’ve taken my spring and summer clothes out of storage. Light has flooded our home and offices bringing a new sense of urgency and motivation to our workdays.
Our son has enjoyed the nicer weather and the return of story-time at our local library. Little J has had a few first since I last wrote. He’s had his first ice-cream cone and enjoyed his first Spring Fling at the local school. He even won a german chocolate cake in the cake walk! He’s had a go clearing the twigs from our lawn and as a reward had a wheelbarrow ride.
My ‘me time’ has been occupied with a painting I’m hoping to enter in the Pekin Days Art Show in June. It has been a while since I attempted to paint anything so I’m really hoping it comes together as I envision it. Or that it works at all.
Mother’s day was really nice. I hope it was great for all of you moms out there. First of all my boys allowed me to sleep in.Love them.. best mother’s day gift ever! Grandma received a Pinterest inspired vase from Little J and us. This was a quick project for us but a fun one. And Little J loves to walk by it and admire his work. My favorite part is definitely his drawings though and it made grandma happy so it did its job well. Now I am looking for more ways to incorporate his artistic explorations into keepsake projects. I called and visited with my mom and sister and it was great to receive mother’s day greetings from my dad too!
I’m hoping to get back to working out again. This has been incredibly challenging for me. I have just felt too busy, tired and unmotivated. But I am hoping to change that this summer. Pray I gain some discipline. I’m meditating on acquiring discipline! 🙂
There I feel we are all caught up.
