We have another weekend of snow here in North Dakota and I’m once more in awe of my surroundings.  Warm and comfortable indoors, I find myself admiring the falling snow against the strong browns of the trees. It was a beautiful winter day yesterday too. After a morning spent mostly planning and organizing schedules we decided to take a break. You learn not to let an opportunity go by after living a few winters in North Dakota. If the weather is nice and you have something to do be sure to get it done! There will likely be a blizzard tomorrow! Well we took our chance and headed outdoors with our son.

Outdoors with Little J and Josh- feeding the critters

We keep seed and suet for feeding critters in the winter. Yesterday we also put out apple and pumpkin. It was Little J’s first time helping dad feed the deer and birds and he enjoyed it. He would tweet at the Downey Woodpeckers as they flew by.

Little J having fun sledding.

Once we’d fed the animals it was time for sledding. We enjoyed hot coco and marshmallows before returning to our interests and tasks for the day.January is here once again which means it’s paper organization month. I’m doing a blog series detailing how I organize and rid myself of the paper in my home. I don’t claim to have all the answers but I hope that something I share is useful in your own homes. If you have any ideas I urge you to share them in the comments so we can all learn from each other. Look for those blogs in the coming weeks along with the bi-monthly look into our lives here at Beach to Prairie.

Thank you for all the support you give this blog and by extension myself and my family. You have been a great delight in my life in the past year. I love waking up and seeing likes, messages and tallies that let me know you are reading and interested. I’m filled with anticipation, hope and excitement for what’s to come this year. I wish you all the very best for the New Year.
